Baccus is a Parisian House Dj from the South West of France.
His goal: Share with the world his love for music and parties thanks to his sets and productions.
After a few years of production, @baccusdj returns to his first love of Minimal House with a sunny vibe and a resolutely clubby sound! Boss of @groovytuderecords , he recently released a banger with UK influences. His remixes confirm his ambition with collaborations such as Folamour, Oden & Fatzo, Black Loops or Leo Pol.
We’ve caught up with Baccus and talked about how he’s been & some of his new releases.
How are you, what’s good and what’s bad right now?
I am feeling very well! I am going to release my next EP the 9th of November on Groovytude Records
I can’t wait!
You discovered music through Rock’n’Roll, Jazz, & Soul. Tell us something more about that, how did it all start & when did you start producing your own music?
I first started in a rock band during the MySpace golden age. I was singing and playing guitar and I loved it. We were doing a lot of concerts in my hometown and that’s where I started to go on stage and it was such a great experience.
I had to deal with all the social networks; it was very new to me, but it helped me a lot with what I’m doing now.
I was listening to a bit of electronic music at the same time, but it really came years later. I started producing lounge music 6 years ago on GarageBand and I started producing house music 4 years ago on Logic Pro. I was blown away by all the possibilities!
Producing and singing has always been a goal of mine, so I’m very happy that people like it!
You have some really nice collaborations with Oden & Fatzo, Leo Pol & Folamour already. With which artist you would love to do a collaboration next?
For my next EP I am going to collaborate with Black Loops! He has done an amazing remix that I can’t wait to share! I have several projects going on, but I can’t tell you about them now. Stay posted! What I can tell you is that I’m very proud to work with all the talented people I have always admired! I have met passionate and loving people that have made me grow up artistically and humanly!
Besides Dj’ing & producing you are also the founder of Groovytude Records. What makes this label unique & which artist would you love to sign one day?
Our aim with this label is to make people happy and dance. The base of this label is the sunshine. You need to feel it in every track.
We love big bass and vocals, but I guess that’s part of the fundamentals of house music.
Our aim is to bring happiness with our music! It’s all about the groove with a bit of romanticism.
What would you say was the most important piece of equipment/hardware/software used in making your latest tracks?
My microphone. It’s a really shitty model but I love it. It’s completely broken and I need to sing the same part many times to have it perfect but it gives something to my track that feels very special! It’s clearly part of my music now, so I would never change it!
What else have you got coming up/are you excited by this year?
Let’s say that 2022 is going to be a good year!
