A Soundtrack for 50 Summers
Since opening in 1976, Amnesia Ibiza has stood as one of the island’s defining nightlife institutions, a club where sound, atmosphere and collective release have always mattered more than image.
The new anniversary compilation reflects that legacy through a hand-picked selection of tracks connected to the club’s story, the island’s evolution and the wider history of electronic music. Rather than following a purely chronological structure, the collection moves across eras and genres, capturing the spirit of Amnesia Ibiza as a place where disco, Balearic, house, trance, techno and rave culture have continuously collided.
From the unmistakable piano line of Eric Prydz’s “Pjanoo” to the emotional pulse of Fred again.. and The Blessed Madonna’s “Marea (We’ve Lost Dancing),” the compilation places modern anthems alongside foundational classics.

Curated by Those Who Lived the Story
The compilation was curated by long-time Amnesia Ibiza resident Les Schmitz, the Amnesia Ibiza team and Frederik Emmerechts from N.E.W.S.
That detail matters.
This is not a tracklist built by algorithm or streaming data. It is an archival project shaped by people connected to the club’s history, selectors who understand not only which tracks became famous, but which records carried emotional weight inside the room.
Each inclusion feels like part of a larger memory bank: a terrace moment, a sunrise, a residency, a generation, a track that shifted the energy of the night and stayed with people long after the lights came on.
From Disco Roots to Rave Energy
The tracklist reflects the extraordinary range of music that has passed through Amnesia Ibiza over the last five decades.
Disco and early dancefloor culture are represented through tracks such as Chic’s “Good Times,” Candi Staton’s “Young Hearts Run Free” and Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love.” The new wave and Balearic spirit come through New Order’s “Blue Monday,” Chris Rea’s “Josephine” and Joe Smooth’s “Promised Land.”
The compilation also dives into the energy of rave and club culture through records such as Human Resource’s “Dominator,” N-Joi’s “Anthem,” Felix’s “Don’t You Want Me,” The Age Of Love’s “The Age Of Love” and Robert Miles’ “Children.”
Together, these tracks tell a wider story: not just of Amnesia Ibiza, but of how dance music itself moved from underground scenes into global culture.

The Sound of Iconic Nights
Some selections also point directly to the club nights that helped define Amnesia Ibiza’s identity.
Alter Ego’s “Rocker” and Extrawelt’s “Titelheld” nod to the influence of Sven Väth’s Cocoon, one of the most important techno residencies in Ibiza history. Meanwhile, Paul van Dyk’s “For An Angel” and Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan’s “Silence” in DJ Tiësto’s In Search Of Sunrise Remix reflect the major role that Cream played in shaping trance culture at the venue.
The collection also includes a vinyl exclusive: Maceo Plex vs Faithless – “Insomnia 2021 (Epic Mix),” adding another layer of collectability to the release.
Alfredo’s Balearic Spirit
The legacy of Alfredo Fiorito, Amnesia Ibiza’s original resident and one of the defining figures of the Balearic sound, can also be felt throughout the compilation.
Tracks such as Joe Smooth’s “Promised Land,” Sueño Latino’s “Sueño Latino,” Electra’s “Jibaro” and Amnesia’s own “Ibiza” speak to the open-minded musical philosophy that helped make the club legendary.
That spirit: eclectic, emotional, unpredictable and deeply human, remains central to Amnesia Ibiza’s identity. The anniversary compilation does not reduce the club to one genre. Instead, it honours the idea that the Amnesia Ibiza sound has always been bigger than categories.

A Club That Became Cultural Memory
At 50 years old, Amnesia Ibiza is no longer simply a venue. It is a living archive of electronic music culture.
For generations of dancers, DJs and artists, the club has represented something elemental: the room, the sound system, the crowd, the sunrise and the feeling of losing yourself completely in music. Its influence stretches far beyond Ibiza, shaping the way club culture understands atmosphere, residency, curation and collective experience.
This anniversary compilation captures that legacy in physical form.
Across 50 tracks, Amnesia 50th Anniversary Compilation is not just a celebration of past summers. It is a reminder that some clubs do more than host music — they help define what dance music becomes.
The Amnesia 50th Anniversary Compilation is out September 4 via N.E.W.S.
