Jean-Michel Jarre announced in concert for the first time in Ibiza, at Amnesia as part of the club’s 50th anniversary.

Ibiza has never really lacked pioneers in its line ups. But it is rarer for the island to welcome an architect. This summer, one of the fathers of electronic music, Jean-Michel Jarre will make his first live performance on the island with his very first Ibiza show, announced as an exclusive date at Amnesia on Sunday 5th July (on the Terrace). A strong symbol, placed at the heart of the club’s 50th anniversary years: proof that a venue this mythical can still surprise, even after five decades of nights, stages, and intertwined generations.

Jean-Michel Jarre embodies the idea of electronic music that does not simply make you dance: it projects and stages. The French artist (22 studio albums, more than 85 million records sold) built his legend on phenomenals event concerts and immersive productions, from multichannel sound to VR, all the way to “metaverse” experiments.

He has turned monuments and historic sites into giant canvases (the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Pyramids in Giza, Petra in Jordania, The Red Square in Moscow, The forbidden city in Beijing, the Sahara…), and his obsession with technology is a way of telling the future in the present since the beginning of his carreer.

That is precisely what makes the announcement intriguing: Ibiza, yes, but in a club, not on an esplanade. At Amnesia, Jarre promises a more direct, more immediate relationship, almost intimate for an artist used to wide horizons.

“Amnesia is a trip — an escape from time. No past, no future, just the intensity of the moment. That space of freedom is where my music has always lived. I’m thrilled to do my very first Ibiza concert at Amnesia to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the club.” – Jean-Michel Jarre

Before him, the night will open with Joplyn live, a Berlin based artist, announced in a melodic and cinematic register, between ethereal vocals and immersive production, a contemporary counterpoint that dialogues well with Jarre’s visionary legacy. In warm up support, Les Schmitz, an Amnesia resident since 2003, will open the night anchored in the venue’s acoustics and emotional temperature.

In the story Amnesia is building for its 50 years, this date is a beautiful tribute to its identity. The club is not only celebrating a glorious past, it is still claiming the ability to create unique moments with uniques artists.

And for Jarre, 2026 is not a year like any other, it also marks the 50th anniversary of Oxygène, released in 1976, a landmark album whose shadow still hovers over a large part of electronic culture with more than 15 millions copies sold.

Concerts tickets are available on the Amnesia website.
