Amnesia is taking five decades of Ibiza club culture onto the streets of Amsterdam with a moving club tram created especially for Amsterdam Dance Event.
On Thursday, October 22, the legendary Ibiza venue will transform an Amsterdam tram into an intimate mobile dancefloor for eight consecutive sessions, marking the official beginning of the Amnesia 50 Years World Tour.
Created together with technology partner CM.com, the pop up brings a selection of artists connected with Amnesia onto the tram for a journey through the Dutch capital, placing DJs, dancers and the passing city inside the same constantly changing environment.
The concept follows Amnesia’s latest Ibiza season and represents the first international destination in a wider anniversary journey that will take the club’s identity beyond the island.
Eight Hours, Eight DJs, One Moving Club
The Amnesia tram will operate from 14:00 until 22:00, with eight individual rides scheduled throughout the day.
Each session lasts one hour and has capacity for up to 90 guests.
ELLIA JAYA opens proceedings from 14:00 until 15:00, followed by Jamie Fielding from 15:00 until 16:00 and GASKIN from 16:00 until 17:00.
KEPLER takes control from 17:00 until 18:00 before longtime Amnesia figure Mar-T steps behind the decks from 18:00 until 19:00.
As Amsterdam moves into the evening, Sidney Charles plays from 19:00 until 20:00, followed by OBSKÜR from 20:00 until 21:00.
Italian DJ and producer Marco Faraone will close the final journey between 21:00 and 22:00.
The programme gives every artist an individual hour inside the unusual space, turning the tram into a succession of intimate club sessions rather than one continuous event.
Ibiza Meets Amsterdam
The concept offers a striking contrast to the environment normally associated with Amnesia.
In Ibiza, the club has built its reputation around large scale dancefloors and generations of electronic music history. In Amsterdam, that identity is being compressed into a tram carrying just 90 guests at a time.
Instead of entering a fixed venue, audiences will experience the music while Amsterdam itself moves around them.
The city becomes part of the production, replacing conventional club surroundings with streets, architecture and changing urban scenery.
The tram will depart from outside Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam on Damrak, creating an unusual meeting point between Ibiza club culture and one of Europe’s most important electronic music gatherings.

A Fully Equipped Club on Rails
Despite the unconventional location, the tram has been equipped as a functioning DJ environment. The technical setup includes a Pioneer DJM V10 mixer and two Pioneer CDJ 3000 players, giving the participating artists a professional club configuration inside the vehicle.
The relatively small capacity also changes the relationship between DJ and audience. There is little separation between performer and crowd, creating the possibility of a more immediate dancefloor atmosphere.
The Beginning of the Amnesia 50 Years World Tour
More importantly, Amsterdam represents the first destination of Amnesia’s new anniversary journey beyond Ibiza.
The 50 Years World Tour is designed to carry the club’s music, identity and energy into cities around the world, turning its anniversary into an international celebration rather than one confined to the island where its story began.
Founded in Ibiza in 1976, Amnesia has spent five decades evolving alongside electronic dance music itself. Across different generations, the venue has become closely connected with the development of Ibiza as a global destination for club culture.
Its dancefloors have moved through different musical eras while maintaining a reputation built around collective experience, major international DJs and the particular intensity of nights on the island.
The Amsterdam tram takes that history into an entirely different setting.
Rather than recreating Amnesia physically, the project reduces the concept to some of its essential ingredients: a DJ, a crowd and a shared space built around music.
Amnesia Enters Its Next 50 Years
Choosing Amsterdam Dance Event as the starting point for the world tour carries its own significance.
Every October, Amsterdam becomes a global meeting point for electronic music, bringing together artists, labels, promoters, clubs, technology companies and audiences from across the international scene.
Against that backdrop, Amnesia is celebrating its past through a format that feels deliberately unconventional.
A club with 50 years of history is temporarily leaving behind the architecture that made it famous, for one day, there will be no Ibiza terrace and no traditional club room, instead, eight DJs, eight groups of passengers and the streets of Amsterdam will become the setting for this unique Amnesia x Amsterdam Dance Event pop up.
