In New York’s ever-evolving nightlife landscape, few figures embody the convergence of classical discipline and underground energy as distinctly as Kozlow. A classically trained violinist turned DJ, producer, and promoter, he has built a career that blurs the line between conservatory precision and raw dance floor freedom. Now, with the launch of his imprint ANTHR FCKNG PARTY (AFP), Kozlow is channeling the momentum of his acclaimed event series into a label built to champion community, authenticity, and underground sound.

The debut release, “Untitled” (out September 12), sets the tone. A stripped-back, hypnotic tech-house cut, it embodies the ethos that has guided AFP since its inception. As Kozlow explains, “Born from parties, ANTHR FCKNG PARTY champions the raw energy and creative freedom that define real music. ‘Untitled’ reflects the basics house is built on community, authenticity, and the kind of classic sounds that inspired us in the first place.”

From Violin to Warehouse Floors

Kozlow’s path is far from typical. Classically trained at Vanderbilt University on a performance scholarship, he honed his craft as a violinist before pivoting to nightlife and production. His versatility has carried him across worlds: playing alongside Carl Cox, Cedric Gervais, and Alesso; performing at celebrity gatherings like Kevin Hart’s parties; and contributing violin to studio recordings by Scott Storch, Funk Flex, and King Von.

This dual identity, discipline of a classical musician fused with the spontaneity of a DJ—shapes the foundation of AFP. The event series, famous for its “no line-up” and “no phone” policies, has become one of New York’s most coveted underground experiences. Last year alone, AFP drew more than 10,000 attendees, from intimate DIY locations to marquee venues.

Building a Movement

AFP has delivered some of the city’s most memorable dance moments in recent years. Highlights include a Green Velvet b2b Kozlow set at The Surf Lodge, a surprise performance by Carlita at the Halloween edition “The Fall of Rome,” and collaborations with artists like LP Giobbi and Chloe Caillet. Even as AFP scales- selling over 1,000 tickets for its takeover of Hudson Yards’ EDGE venue, it preserved its underground ethos.

For Kozlow, this balance is essential. “The vision is to follow in the footsteps of legendary party series but with a twist, become a stronghold for culture and a platform for underground music to thrive,” he says.

Studio Precision, Dance Floor Impact

Alongside his event work, Kozlow has built a reputation in the studio, contributing as a session musician at Electric Lady Studios and Germano Studios/The Hit Factory. These iconic rooms, where music history has been shaped, sharpened his attention to sonic detail. Something that translates directly into his productions and DJ sets.

This blend of studio craft and stage performance has made Kozlow a fixture not only in New York’s scene but also on global stages, from Burning Man with Carl Cox to after-parties at Stagecoach and Miami Music Week.

Looking Forward

With “Untitled,” Kozlow is codifying the spirit of ANTHR FCKNG PARTY. The label will serve as an extension of the culture he has cultivated on dance floors. Kozlow’s vision is a reminder of house music’s roots: intimacy, authenticity, and collective release.
