Two electronic heavyweights from very different corners of the dancefloor have finally met on record.
Solomun and Skrillex have released their debut collaborative single, “Rumpta,” out now via Diynamic Music. Built around groovy basslines, rolling drums and a vocal line that nods to golden-era house, the track brings together Skrillex’s restless production language with Solomun’s deep, hypnotic dancefloor sensibility.
The release landed ahead of the pair’s appearance at Pacha Ibiza on Sunday, July 5, where Skrillex joined Solomun as part of the long-running Solomun+1 residency. The two artists first linked up at the same venue last summer, setting the stage for a collaboration that now feels like one of the most unexpected and talked-about electronic releases of the season.
A House-Driven Meeting Point
“Rumpta” does not try to simply merge two brands. Instead, it finds a shared space between them.
The track moves with a loose, physical groove, driven by percussive momentum and a bassline built for late-night pressure. Its vocal hook brings a classic house flavour, but the production remains sharp, modern and slightly unpredictable, exactly where the chemistry between Skrillex and Solomun begins to make sense.
For Solomun, the track fits naturally into the emotional, groove-led world that has defined his sets for years. For Skrillex, it continues a broader creative phase marked by collaboration, club experimentation and genre mutation.
From Secret Weapon to Official Release
Before its official arrival, “Rumpta” had already become a regular feature in both artists’ recent DJ sets.
Solomun played the track during his two sold-out shows at Alexandra Palace in London, as well as during his set at EDC Las Vegas in May. As clips circulated online and fans began identifying the record as a potential Skrillex and Solomun collaboration, anticipation grew around whether the track would remain another unreleased ID or finally receive a proper release.
Now, with “Rumpta” out via Diynamic Music, the track moves from dancefloor rumour to official summer weapon.
Solomun: The Art of Dancefloor Storytelling
Few artists have shaped modern melodic and deep house culture as clearly as Solomun.
Through Diynamic Music, his marathon DJ sets and his influential Solomun+1 residency at Pacha Ibiza, Solomun helped redefine the role of the DJ as both selector and storyteller. His sound, emotional, slow-burning, groove-focused and cinematic, became a blueprint for a generation of producers and club nights operating between underground intimacy and global festival scale.
Solomun’s influence also extends beyond records. His approach to curation, pacing and atmosphere helped move melodic house into larger rooms without stripping away its depth, proving that big-room electronic music could still feel elegant, patient and human.

Skrillex Beyond Genre Boundaries
Skrillex’s influence on electronic music is impossible to reduce to one era or one sound.
After reshaping global bass music in the early 2010s, Skrillex evolved into one of electronic music’s most unpredictable creative forces, moving between dubstep, house, techno, jungle, pop, Latin club sounds, hip-hop and experimental production. His strength has always been mutation, the ability to absorb new scenes, collaborate across borders and push high-impact sound design into unexpected spaces.
In 2026, that restlessness remains central. Following the January EP “Kora,” Skrillex surprise-released the album “SOMA” last month, alongside a run of singles and collaborations including “Duro” with Young Miko and “Thistle” with Blawan, Randomer and MC Dricka.
With “Rumpta,” Skrillex again shows his ability to enter a different musical universe without losing his own edge.

A Collision That Makes Sense
On paper, Skrillex and Solomun might seem like an unexpected pairing.
One is known for explosive sound design, global collaboration and constant stylistic reinvention. The other is a master of tension, groove and slow-building emotional release. But “Rumpta” works because it does not force either artist to dominate the other.
Instead, it captures the middle ground: house music with muscle, detail and personality.
That balance is what makes the collaboration feel bigger than a one-off single. It reflects a wider moment in electronic music where boundaries between scenes continue to dissolve, and where artists from different generations and traditions are finding new ways to meet on the same dancefloor.
Ibiza as the Perfect Setting
There could hardly be a more fitting backdrop for the collaboration than Pacha Ibiza.
Solomun+1 has long been one of the island’s defining Sunday rituals, built around extended sets, carefully chosen guests and a sense of intimacy that remains rare within Ibiza’s large-scale club landscape. Bringing Skrillex into that environment underlines the track’s hybrid identity: global, underground-facing, high-energy and deeply connected to club culture.
“Rumpta” is not just a collaboration between two major names.
It is a reminder that electronic music’s most interesting moments often happen when worlds collide and when the result still feels built for the floor.
