Sara Landryβs HEKATE Records has partnered with Change The Beat to launch a global remix competition aimed at creating new opportunities for women and gender-expansive producers in electronic music.
Participants are being invited to reinterpret Sara Landry and Alex Farellβs βAngel Dust,β with three winning producers set to receive music production packages and the top remix earning an official release through HEKATE Records.
Open worldwide, the competition arrives as Change The Beat expands its efforts to address gender inequality within electronic music and create more direct pathways between emerging producers and established labels.
Remixing βAngel Dustβ
At the center of the competition is βAngel Dust,β the collaboration between Sara Landry and Alex Farell.
Producers entering the contest will receive access to the trackβs stems, allowing them to build their own interpretation of the record. Submissions are open to anyone who identifies as female or gender expansive, regardless of location.
The winning remix will be officially released on Sara Landryβs HEKATE Records, giving one emerging producer the opportunity to place their work directly within the catalog of one of hard technoβs most visible contemporary labels.
The winner will also receive Native Instruments Komplete 15 Collectorβs Edition. Second place will receive Komplete 15 Ultimate, while the third-place producer will receive Komplete 15 Standard.
Participants can additionally access Komplete Start, Native Instrumentsβ free collection of instruments, samples and effects.
Submissions remain open until October 5, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST, with stems, rules and full competition details available through the LabelRadar contest portal.
Creating Visibility for Emerging Producers
The collaboration connects HEKATE with Change The Beat, the initiative founded by DJ and producer Sydney Blu to create more opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists across electronic music.

She also highlighted Sara Landryβs growing role in bringing other female artists into highly visible spaces within electronic music.
Sydney Blu pointed specifically to Sara Landry bringing artists from her Blood Oath project onstage at Coachella, describing the moment as an example of using a major platform to create visibility for other artists.
That spirit of opening doors and bringing other artists with you is so aligned with what weβre building at Change the Beat,
she added.
From a Remix Competition to a Wider Industry Mission
The project forms part of a considerably larger initiative.
In July, Change The Beat pledged to create 300 label opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists by 2028, placing releases and direct industry access at the center of its strategy.
The organization is also preparing an international tour across the United States, Canada and Europe. Rather than operating solely as a series of club events, each stop is expected to combine live music with workshops, industry panels and artist development opportunities.
Confirmed destinations include fabric in London, Amsterdam Dance Event and Marquee New York, extending the initiative from online opportunities into physical spaces where emerging artists can connect with established figures across the music industry.
The partnership with HEKATE provides another route into that ecosystem, using the remix format as both a creative challenge and a potential entry point into professional label infrastructure.
Opening the Door Behind the Booth
Remix competitions have long been part of electronic music culture, offering producers the chance to reinterpret established records while demonstrating their own musical identity. What makes this collaboration more significant is the structure surrounding it.
The most valuable prize is not simply production software. It is the opportunity for an emerging producer to have their remix officially released through HEKATE Records, placing their name in front of an audience already closely connected to contemporary hard techno.
For an industry where access to labels, networks and major stages can be as important as production ability itself, initiatives such as Change The Beat are attempting to turn visibility into something more concrete.
With Sara Landry bringing the reach of HEKATE into the project, βAngel Dustβ becomes more than a track to remix. For one producer, it could become an introduction to a much bigger stage.
