Oslo based DJ / producer Simon Field returns with ‘WORK!’, lifted from the upcoming album ’Need No Music’ released this August through his own label Basement Records.

A cerebral slice of immersive, peak time electronica, ‘WORK!’ is an impressive blend of dubby, tactile and textural tech house hybrid sounds. He says: “When you fall asleep, I start to work. It is a self biographical statement that pretty much describes my life over the past couple of decades. I played this one as an opener last summer and got so many requests for it that it’s about time to release. The spoken words followed by a driving house beat with a smooth layer of percussion sets the scene for a driving house set.”

WORK! / 4th August

Simon Field has had 150m+ streams and synced his music to high-profile TV shows such as Californication & Ugly Betty. Shared stages with Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez and played an array of high profiled venues from Ministry of Sound, Mambo Ibiza, Eden to bigger festivals like In It Together and Escape. His tracks are supported by an impressive array of DJs from David Guetta, Frequencies to Majestic.

Previous radio support from BBC R1, Kiss FM. Extensive coverage in music media from Mixmag and more. Spotify Editorial support: Housewerk, New Music Friday UK, SE, NO, DK, Electronic Rising, Lowkey Tech, New Music Friday Dance, Fiesta Dance, Running UK. Simon will be playing extensively in Europe this summer.

Simon did an exclusive mixtape for Deep Tech Mag.

This is what Simon says about the mix:

A mix from my heart–keeping it deep and bass heavy. The mix very much represent my live sound in sounds, tracks, and BPM and also the sound of Basement Records and my upcoming club nights Basement Sessions. Oslo is seeing a thriving underground scene after covid, and deep tech, minimal tech to funky tech house takes up a large part of it on venues like Jæger and Skaugum. We are currently looking at opportunities to take BasementSessions to the UK and to establish it on a venue in London. More to come soon.
