Kintar interview

Hey Kintar, thanks for chatting with us today! How are things going in Ibiza?

Hola guys, I’m so happy with current island life. The last couple of weeks have been amazing with Summerians every Friday at Blue Marlin and my debut at the #1 club in the world – Hi Ibiza. I once again shared the DJ booth with Black Coffee and WhoMadeWho was the cherry on top of the cake.

It’s brilliant to see the Isle back in full swing this year. How has your residency at Blue Marlin Ibiza been so far?

Pinch me, because it’s a dream to have my own event in Ibiza doing so well, as you know the daily competition is hectic, but we are pushing and it’s going great.

This July you return to your Sudam Recordings label with your latest release, a remix of the track ‘Uthando Lungihlulile’ by Drizzy Sam Feat. OHP Sage & Puntsa. What was it that inspired you to take on this remix?

I fell in love with the original, so I contacted the guys to make the remix, and they were so happy. I gave a danceable approach to their masterpiece.

Your remix transforms ‘Uthando Lungihlulile’ into a euphoric track perfect for sunrises and sunsets on the dancefloor. Can you run us through your creative process on this remix?

I followed my intuition about the dancefloor, the track had all the ingredients, I just added my touch, I know how to make people dance, So I mixed the emotions from the original and my percussive rhythm.

Were there any key bits of equipment involved in the process? And to add to that, what are your favourite bits of studio gear at the moment?

My Pmc Monitors and my ears and a bunch of Vst’s. My favorite studio gear are my Pultec Eq and Varimu compressor. Also, SSL Fusion is top for analog treatment.

What do you look for when signing music to Sudam Recordings?

Music that I could play, from a warm up track, to peak time euphoria.

As an artist with almost two decades of experience, we’d love to hear what advice you would offer to aspiring artists?

Surround yourself with the right people, networking is so important, make great music and take your career seriously. Most importantly, be a good person!
