Hey Delon! Nice to meet you, how are things?
I’m fine, and all my things are going well, releasing a lot of music and just came back from Ibiza where we made a video for Arrollando.
Tell us about the early stages of your career in the south of France, what do you remember most from them times?
I had the chance to be a resident in the most beautiful establishments in my region and in particular for 8 years in the most famous after-party in France “Bar Live”… I also toured a lot abroad with my first musical project as a duo, it was a prosperous period and I have excellent memories.
What have you learnt from the music industry and from yourself since you began your musical journey?
These several years of experience allowed me to know what I wanted to do or not, and to better reflect on projects, and strategies.
What I also learned is about my own music. Being surrounded by a good team is essential, the success of a project depends on a whole lot of things that we are working on all day.
How has starting your own label ‘Way of House’ been and what do you hope for the future of the label?
I run my label for more than 10 years now…at the beginning, the project was to bring together producer friends from the Nîmes region… then we evolved and the label grew up with the signing of artists like Joris Delacroix, Synapson or remixers like Kolombo, Citizen Kain, Cosmic Boys or Kiko.
Today, I refocused the releases on a team of « family » artists because I want us to return to a strong collective identity. Music will focus from deep to melodic techno with our boys: The Dualz, Wielki, Cebb or Essence of Time.
Tell us about your new single ‘Arrollando’ with Eribertho Cruz on Uve Doble and how this came about.
I made the instrumental with the participation of Hugo a guitarist friend, I had a precise idea of the vocal I wanted… so I let the track on the side and it was during a family trip to Ibiza that I met Eribertho Cruz, he was playing live during a show, I directly spoke to him and offered him this collaboration. The following month I received the first demo with the vocal and I was very happy with the result.
This track is quite different from what I’m producing at the moment but it respects what I play as a DJ, I’ve always liked afro & latino tracks.
It is released for the occasion on Uve Doble which is the “afro & latina” little sister of the Label Way Of House!
You’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many different artists, especially during lockdown, how has that experience been? Do you enjoy bouncing ideas off fellow producers?
Yes indeed, the confinements allowed me to produce a lot of music and as I had the time I explored many styles… I did afro house with the track “WOMA” with the Nigerian singer LASS which was released on the latest Buddha Bar compilation but also « YACOUNA » on Radiant label. I remixed a melancholy pop track by Australian singer Liza Flume “HURT ME”, I’m really happy with it and still have a lot of good feedback. I also collaborated with the French Fredrik O. on 2 deep titles including “LUV U” which were released by WOH.
and of course with my friend CEBB, the two tracks “VERSUS” between progressive house and very effective techno specially made for our b2b sets
You’ve performed in many countries in Europe and around the world, do you have a favourite place or venue?
Always difficult to choose one, but I have very good memories of my gig at Carpediem Beach in Hvar, Croatia
What else do you get up to outside of music?
My days are busy… when I’m not in the studio or on tour; I manage an event company with my wife, I spend time with my boys and I play Padel!
Are there more releases to come in 2022?
Many more tracks are to come, for now I’m focusing on a balearic house track I started at the hotel in Ibiza last week and a deep house track collaboration with Jinadu!
