Josh Baker rounds off 2025 with “Come Closer” EP — a sharp, five-track release that captures the maturity and creative precision he has honed on the global circuit. Landing once again via his own You&Me Records, the EP feels like a distilled snapshot of an artist who has sharpened his craft through an exceptional run of studio and stage achievements this year.
A defining figure in the new wave of UK house, Baker has transformed breakthrough momentum into undeniable authority. Chart impact, a sold-out Magazine London headline, influential Ibiza gigs including the last timeslot on the timetable of the iconic Amnesia Ibiza closing party (in b2b with Luciano), and a celebrated BBC Radio 1 residency have all marked his ascent — while the You&Me 10-year milestone reaffirmed the label’s rise from a Manchester concept into a crucial international platform for forward-thinking club music.
Offering insight into the project, he reflects: “Five tracks on my beloved You&Me Records, each one representing a different shade of what I’ve been cooking over the last 18 months.”
That spectrum of shades is immediately clear. The track Come Closer” feat. Sienna Sophia opens with warmth and hypnotic pulse layered beneath ethereal vocals, setting an inviting and intimate tone. “Signs of Life” feat. Lily McKenzie introduces a more emotive touch, pairing soulful vocal phrases with textured synth work to create a track that feels both uplifting and atmospheric. “Description” showcases Baker’s technical flair, weaving intricate rhythms with minimalistic detailing, while “Free Your Mind” closes the EP on a euphoric note, encouraging listeners to let go as its warm chords and airy grooves unfold, a weightless, late-night glide built for dancers who don’t want the night to end.
Josh Baker said : “The lead track provides a memory I’ll think about for a lifetime, that opening moment at Creamfields. The rest of the EP representing my different tastes in the house music sphere, hopefully something for everyone.”
The release lands right as Baker keeps his momentum rolling across key dance capitals. From Bristol for a show with Sweely, followed immediately by a back-to-back session with Max Dean at Liverpool’s iconic Circus to Miami for Art Basel where he’ll be taking You&Me into the spotlight with a flagship showcase and joining the lineup at a heavyweight Paradise event featuring Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and other elite selectors. December brings a Rise Festival appearance in France, a double hit in Belfast, and then the final sprint: a late-December tour across Australia to close the year on a high before the upcoming announcement of his Ibiza 2026 residency (guess where?).
Come Closer arrives as further proof of why Baker is considered a key architect of the UK’s new house movement — a producer stepping into major-league territory with style, depth and undeniable groove.
