David Guetta has been crowned The World’s No. 1 DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2026, setting a new record with a sixth victory in the influential annual poll.
Fifteen years after David Guetta first reached the top spot in 2011, the French electronic music superstar has now surpassed Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren, who have each claimed the title five times. David Guetta previously finished at No. 1 in 2011, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025, making the 2026 result another milestone in a career that has stretched across more than four decades.
Yet perhaps the most striking part of the achievement is not simply the number of victories. It is the fact that David Guetta remains at the centre of global dance music while continuing to move between pop, festival culture and the club world.
Four Decades and Still Evolving
David Guetta’s career predates the global EDM explosion he would later help define. Beginning as a DJ in Paris during the 1980s, David Guetta gradually moved from the French club circuit toward production and international recognition, eventually becoming one of the key figures responsible for bringing electronic music into mainstream pop culture.
Tracks including When Love Takes Over, Titanium, Memories and Without You became defining crossover records, while collaborations with artists across pop, hip hop and electronic music turned David Guetta into one of the most commercially successful producers of his generation.
But longevity at this scale requires reinvention. Rather than remaining attached to a single era, David Guetta has repeatedly adjusted his creative direction, from the euphoric EDM years to Future Rave and, more recently, a renewed emphasis on club focused productions and collaborations.
That ability to move between worlds is central to why David Guetta remains relevant decades after his first records appeared.

A Huge 2026 Across Clubs and Pop
The latest No. 1 title arrives during another exceptionally active year.
David Guetta reunited with Afrojack and Sia for Awake Tonight, launched the Men Machine project with Marten Hørger and continued developing Future Rave alongside MORTEN. David Guetta also collaborated with ARTBAT on a remix of Gotye and Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know.
Beyond electronic music, David Guetta joined Andrea Bocelli, Megan Thee Stallion and EJAE for DNA (More Than A Game), the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Collaboration remains fundamental to David Guetta’s creative process. Reflecting on what keeps him moving forward, David Guetta told DJ Mag:
The worst thing that can happen to a producer is to think you know it all.
Working with artists from different generations and musical backgrounds appears to remain one of the engines behind that longevity, allowing David Guetta to absorb new influences without abandoning the melodic accessibility that has defined much of his catalogue.

Ibiza Remains at the Heart of the Story
Despite an increasingly global live schedule, Ibiza continues to occupy a central place in David Guetta’s career.
In 2026, Galactic Circus at UNVRS entered its second season, while F**K ME I’M FAMOUS! at Ushuaïa Ibiza continued the long running party concept that has become closely connected with David Guetta’s relationship with the island.
Galactic Circus has also provided space for a more club focused side of David Guetta. This season included a first ever B2B performance with Carl Cox, bringing together two artists whose careers represent very different but equally influential branches of electronic music history.
The residency also saw David Guetta debut Caught Up, a forthcoming collaboration with Marlon Hoffstadt, further connecting David Guetta’s established global profile with one of the prominent names from electronic music’s current generation.
Reflecting on the scale of the summer, David Guetta told DJ Mag:
It’s the first time I didn’t have a summer pop hit, but it was still the biggest summer I’ve ever had.
For David Guetta, the packed shows represent something that streaming statistics and digital visibility cannot entirely replicate. As David Guetta put it, “everything can be faked, but the one thing you cannot fake is selling tickets”.

From Ibiza to the Stade de France
That argument has been reinforced by David Guetta’s extraordinary live numbers.
In 2026, David Guetta played three sold out performances at the Stade de France in Paris, shifting more than 240,000 tickets across the shows. Guest appearances included Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Black Coffee, Jennifer Lopez, Akon, Bebe Rexha and Black Eyed Peas.
David Guetta has also continued expanding the scale of the Monolith live concept, bringing the production to locations including Red Rocks and Coachella, alongside arenas and stadiums throughout Europe.
The next chapter is already taking shape. In summer 2027, David Guetta is scheduled to bring the live spectacle to London’s O2 as the venue celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Behind the increasingly ambitious production lies a broader idea about the future of live music. With artificial intelligence and social media becoming ever more embedded in daily life, David Guetta believes physical experiences could become increasingly valuable.
Social media was supposed to connect people, but I think it is making people very lonely. And I think the value of real human connection is gonna be higher than ever.
For an artist whose career has largely been built around bringing enormous crowds together, that philosophy feels particularly relevant.
A Historic Sixth No. 1
For the second consecutive year, the World’s No. 1 DJ announcement took place live at UNVRS Ibiza.
The event featured sets from Lost Frequencies, Charlotte de Witte, GORDO B2B Vintage Culture, ANASTAZJA and Korolova, before David Guetta delivered a two hour headline performance and was officially revealed as the 2026 winner.
The result gives David Guetta an unprecedented sixth Top 100 DJs crown. More importantly, it captures the unusual longevity of a career that has survived multiple transformations in dance music, from underground club culture and the rise of EDM to streaming, social media and the increasingly fragmented electronic landscape of today.
More than forty years after David Guetta first stepped behind the decks, the French artist is not simply revisiting past success. David Guetta remains one of the biggest ticket sellers, collaborators and crossover forces in contemporary electronic music.
And in 2026, the numbers have delivered another piece of history.
